Iran says the time of bullying has passed. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Iran Dr Saeed Khatibzadeh made this remarks in Pretoria after participating in a Diplomatic Summit hosted by Thabo Mbeki School of Public and international affairs. In an exclusive interview with SABC Specialist correspondent Sophie Mokoena he also shared information on the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America .
The Border Management Authority has facilitated the repatriation of hundreds of Malawian and Zimbabwean nationals through the Beitbridge Port of Entry as part of coordinated efforts with the Zimbabwean and Malawian foreign missions supported by the Department of Home Affairs and the South African Police Service, among others. President Cyril Ramaphosa has approached the Western Cape High Court seeking an urgent interdict to halt the commencement of an impeachment inquiry against him. Ramaphosa filed papers on the 12th of June, asking the court to bar National Assembly Thoko Didiza and Impeachment Committee Chairperson Makashule Gana from proceeding with the inquiry, pending the outcome of his review application challenging the Independent Panel report. Parliament confirmed that Speaker Didiza has resolved to file a notice to abide by an explanatory affidavit, alongside the impeachment committee's opposition papers. President Cyril Ramaphosa and the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame are expected to engage in a high level bilateral engagement with the aim of reviving the relationship between the two countries. This announcement came during the meeting of South Africa’s international relations and cooperation minister and his Rwandan counterpart. The two met in Pretoria . Fifty years after the Soweto Uprising, survivors reflect on sacrifice, exile, freedom, and a vision for a new Soweto. SABC Correspondent Sophie Mokoena spoke to those who were there and those who were not there. This week Africa will observe the Africa Child day. On the 16 of June in 1976 many children were killed in South Africa after the apartheid regime unleashed brutal killing against the school children who were peaceful protesters against the Bantu education that introduced Afrikaans as a medium of instruction. Some of those who survived left South Africa and seek refugee in many African countries. Some were fortunate and returned back to the after the end of apartheid. Those who were in prisons were also released from incarceration. Fifty years on some of those who were wrote a book looking at how Soweto the township were it all began can repackage as a place of hope

The Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration says it has developed an implementation plan to strengthen migration management. The plan will focus on improved border infrastructure, access to social services, registration of small businesses and informal traders, and a review of asylum and refugee procedures. President Cyril Ramaphosa declared that the late King Makhosoke Mabhena of the AmaNdebele Nation will be honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category One with military honours. His Majesty passed away on Tuesday at the age of 65 and will be laid to rest tomorrow. His funeral service took place at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga. Bafana Bafana received a hero's welcome when they arrived in Mexico City earlier today for their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against co-hosts Mexico. The team was welcomed by scores of local fans, and a handful of travelling South Africans at the team hotel. The team spent a week at their base camp in Pachuca, before moving to Mexico City two days before the much-anticipated opening match of the tournament.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation will provide extensive free-to-air coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from Thursday. A month after the release of abducted Vosloorus spaza shop owner Mazwi Kubheka, new details are beginning to emerge. His sister, Nomdeni Kubheka, has spoken exclusively to SABC News reporter Thato Letsaba. Kubheka went missing on the 2nd of April after a suspicious vehicle was allegedly seen patrolling his shop. He resurfaced a month later on the 2nd of May and is currently staying at an undisclosed location due to safety concerns. Mazwi's sister says the matter is bigger than what they expected.
